HYDERABAD: Rajiv Yuvakiranalu, a scheme aimed at providing 15 lakh jobs in various sectors to unemployed youth over a period of three years, will be launched in Visakhapatnam on August 20.The scheme, the brainchild of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, will be launched as part of the Rajiv Education and Employment Mission.The state cabinet, which met at the CM’s camp office here on Tuesday after a gap of two months, approved the proposal for setting up the Rajiv Education and Employment Council under the chairmanship of the chief minister. The council will work with the objective of providing employment to youth living in urban, urban slums and rural areas apart from providing livelihood opportunities to the disabled and placements in educational institutions.Briefing mediapersons at the Secretariat, information and public relations minister DK Aruna said the council of minister also cleared the proposal for establishment of an apex cooperative credit society through Mahila Mandala Samakhyas for financing women’s SHGs. A credit society will have a single branch and will be linked with the Mahila Samakhyas through internet banking system with the help of IT department. It will be launched with a share capital of `500 crore in the first week of Sept with an aim to mobilise and lend `1,000 crore during the current financial year. The lending will go up to `4,000 crore by 2014. The cabinet gave green signal for conducting Socio Economic and Caste Census -2011 in AP. The first phase will be conducted from Sept 26 to Oct 5, followed by 3 more phases from Oct 7 to Nov 8. It cleared the draft of AP Promotion of Social Audit and Prevention of Corrupt Practices Ordinance 2011 for taking effective criminal action against persons indulging in corrupt practices. It also gave a nod for creation of new teaching and non-teaching posts in the state varsities.
