The MNS leaders say that no one spares a thought for Marathi youths.

Mumbai: Raj Thackeray’s imminent arrest had sparked off violence in Mumbai. Though the police had taken hundreds of MNS workers in preventive custody, agitators stalled work in the commercial capital.

Maharashtra Navnirmaan Sena (MNS) spokesman Shirish Parkar expressed that his leader had been misunderstood.

“Action has been taken with vengeance and with a motive of revenge against Mr Raj Thackeray. What he spoke has been misunderstood by people in Delhi, Lucknow and Patna. More than 50 lakh people who are unemployed in the state. People are coming to Maharashtra and take away the local youths' jobs. This is a public outcry,” Parkar said.

“People are angry with the actions of the government. At the same time one has to understand that there is anger in the minds of the people. Why always side with the people of Bihar and UP only, why are the Maharashtrians sidetracked? All that I want to tell the people of Maharashtra is to be united, be firm and be with Mr Raj Thackeray," Parkar added.

Raj has since been arrested and sentenced to judicial custody up to November 4. The police have also issued gag orders for two months on Raj Thackeray.
