BANGALORE: A new racing and rallying training school was opened in the city on Saturday. ‘Hot Zone Racing and Performance’ is touted to be the first-of-its-kind institute in South India. “A lot of youngsters have the drive for racing. With all their cool bikes and cars, they set out to burn rubber on busy roads, endangering many lives. This school will provide a platform for the race enthusiasts to race safe,” said Zubair Abdulla, founder of Hot Zone Racing and a veteran racer. While promoting healthy racing and rallying is the idea behind the setting up of this institute, Zubair believes that proper training is the first priority. “While many are interested in racing, there is a lack of road sense and other precautionary measures. This year, we have had more than 290 fatal accidents in the city. So, first priority is to train youngsters in handling the vehicles well,” he said. The school now has a full-fledged track at Devanahalli for training. For Rs 5000, Hot Zone will provide training for 8-10 weeks with its own vehicles well equipped for racing. The school is located in HBR Layout.
