Provide more facilities to endosulfan victims: Sunita Narain

More teachers capable of providing students with special education and Physiotherapists should be appointed at these schools,” she said, adding that the health facilities for the victims should be decentralised by providing palliative care units with more facilities at all 11 panchayats affected by the pesticide. On commenting on the  genuineness of the list of victims, Narain opined that the government followed the best available method in identifying the victims. As these people were declared victims by an independent doctors’ board after holding medical camps for the 7000 people identified after a house to house survey.She strongly opposed the endosulfan manufacturers’ stance on the issue and said that there were enough scientific evidence to prove that the disabilities were caused by the pesticide.She stressed that the victims in the district did not want anything but the medical relief.
