Private University in Hyderabad kicks off storm, orders that boys and girls cannot share a seat on college buses

Hyderabad: A private University in Hyderabad has kicked off a controversy by ordering that boys and girls cannot share a seat on college buses. The Gitam University had recently issued the new instructions which has sparked outrage.

The move has been criticised by the students of the University. The University authorities are yet to comment.

"This is the first time something like this happening in the university. We were notified before but now we have got a written document. We study in a co-ed college so there are many reactions to it now. This whole thing that you can't sit beside girls, mingle with girls is more like a moral policy now," said a student on condition of anonymity.
