Police seize arms, ammunition from a car intercepted for speeding

Four pistols and ten ammunition were seized from an SUV near a village in Navgachhia police district of Bihar, a senior police official said on Thursday.

During checking of vehicles near Ambo village on Wednesday night, the police intercepted a speeding vehicle and recovered the pistols and ammunition from it, Superintendent of Police Shekhar Kumar said. The occupants of the car escaped, he said.

The vehicle belonging to an incarcerated murder case accused Mintu Kumar has been impounded, he said. Raids were being carried out to nab those persons who were carrying weapons in the vehicle, the SP said.
