Police launch manhunt for Bhanukiran

ELURU (WG): Police have launched a massive hunt for the most wanted Bhanukiran alias Bhanu in West Godavari district amidst rumours that he was spotted at a couple of places in the district.Bhanu, who is the prime accused in the murder of Maddelacheruvu Suri, has been absconding after committing the offence.Four special teams of CID personnel from Hyderabad amd a special police team of West Godavari have been conducting checks at the Perupalem beach under the supervision of deputy inspector-general of police (Eluru Range) G Suryaprakasha Rao. The search operations were in full swing at different places including Perupalem beach, seashore areas in Mogaltur mandal and other areas in West Godavari district.The police have been conducting searches for Bhanu in Jangareddygudem, Chagallu, Akiveedu and Kovvur in West Godavari district for the past two days. It is learnt that the police are conducting the searches on a tipoff. There are rumours that Bhanu is already in police custody and is likely to be produced before the media in a couple of days. Police have, however, denied the rumours.When contacted, the DIG said that they received information about Bhanu's movements in the seashore villages of West Godavari. The police official has been camping in Perupalem and supervising the search operations.
