JAIPUR: Six armed miscreants snatched away Rs 2 lakh from an employee of a petrol pump after attacking him on NH-5 near Barchana on Monday.The critically injured employee, Prashant Lenka (40), has been admitted to SCB Medical at Cuttack.Police said Lenka, an employee of Deepa filling station at Barchana, was waiting at the local bus stop to go to Cuttack to deposit the money in a bank. The miscreants then caught hold of him and attacked him with sharp weapons before fleeing with the cash bag.Police have registered a case and sealed all the exit and entry points of the area to nab the accused. No arrests have been made yet.This stretch of the NH has been witnessing a spurt in robbery cases of late. Six miscreants robbed a businessman of Rs 70,000 cash on NH-5 near Kuakhia in Jajpur district on Sunday.Last week, a gang was nabbed for stealing motorcycles along the NH.
