Petrol price cut by Rs 1.82 per litre, diesel rate hiked by 50 paise

New Delhi: In a major relief for the common man, petrol prices will be cut by Rs 1.82 per litre from midnight tonight. The diesel price, however, has been hiked by 50 paise.

This is the third reduction in fuel prices in the month of August. Prior to Independence Day, the petrol prices were slashed by Rs 1.89 per litre.

Getting a hold on the sky-rocketing fuel prices was one of the agendas of the Bharatiya Janata Party during its election campaigns. The Narendra Modi government seem to be keeping up to its promise of 'acche din' with this third reduction in petrol prices ever since it came to power.
