Patient jumps to death in OGH

HYDERABAD: A patient jumped to death form the second floor of Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in Afzalgunj allegedly due to failing health on Monday. The deceased, Srinivas Raju (37), a tractor mechanic from Medak district is survived by wife, Malathi and three children. According to police, Raju met with an accident a year ago and suffered an injury in his  spine. Immediately, he obtained treatment at a local hospital but the infection spread.  With one of the kidneys getting damaged,  Raju was admitted to OGH five days ago. Two days back, doctors performed dialysis and shifted Raju to the nephrology ward. On Monday, when Malati and Raju's sister, Padma, went out to have lunch, Raju went to the toilet on the second floor and jumped from its window. He died undergoing treatment. Police said Raju might have taken the extreme step depressed over his failing health.
