Party loyalists would get poll tickets

Lessons learnt by the state unit of BJP in the last four-and-a-half years has made the party officials decide to give tickets to those candidates who enjoys support of majority cadre and are loyal to the party, said BJP state unit president K S Eshwarappa here on Tuesday.

Inaugurating district-level conference of BJP activists he said, “We faced lot of confusion. Party workers were supreme and there opinion is final as they were the persons who take the ideologies of the party to the minds of the voter and make him to vote in favour of the party. The party workers have shown that they can do any thing if they put their mind to it.”

The party workers have enrolled more than 10 lakh members in just one-day during a membership drive of BJP which started on September 9 in the State.

Eshwarappa said that though in the last four-anda- half years Karnataka has seen three chief ministers, their contribution to the state is commendable.

First chief minister of a BJP-led government in Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa is credited with providing crop loan to the farmers at zero per cent interest, second chief minister Sadanand Gowda introduced Sakal Scheme which was appreciated even by foreign countries and provided Rs 1,000 crore budget for the backward class people and the present chief minister Jagadish Shettar has waived off the crop loan to the tune of Rs 25,000 of 16 lakh farmers of the State.

Former CM Sadanand Gowda, MLA Doddappa Gowda Patil Naribol, MLCs Shasil Namoshi and K B Shanappa also participated in the function.
