TIRUCHY: Desiya Munnetra Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) leader and actor Vijaykanth has candidly confirmed that his party's alliance with the AIADMK will continue for the forthcoming local body elections, in a closed door meeting with his MLAs.
As per functionaries close to the party MLAs, Vijaykanth had asked them to go along smoothly with the ruling party during the budget session of the Assembly.While asking the party members to be regular to the Assembly and observe discipline during the proceedings, the Captain had openly said they should not do or speak anything that offended the AIADMK, as the DMDK would continue its alliance with the ruling party for the local body polls too.

Already, CPI had announced that the party's ties with the AIADMK would continue for the civic polls. Although, the CPM has not come with a similar announcement till now, they have no reason to break the present ties, especially, when the AIADMK is strongly opposing the Congress at the national level. Hence, the party is expected to make a formal announcement soon.This will mean that the AIADMK front will be intact for this elections too.
