A staff nurse posted at primary health centre in Hujoorpur area in Bahraich has accused a senior government doctor and in-charge of the centre of attempting to molest her in an inebriated condition, prompting the health department to order a departmental inquiry.
"Further action will be taken after report of the inquiry comes," Chief Medical Officer of Bahraich, RK Tandon said on Tuesday, adding that deputy CMO is conducting the probe.
However, the CMO said that no police complaint has been filed. The nurse in her complaint on Monday to the CMO has alleged that the in-charge of the centre misbehaved with her in an inebriated state and tried to take her inside a room on Saturday.
According to the woman, the doctor often used to make inappropriate advances towards her and she was in a state of shock, the CMO said. Meanwhile, taking strong view of the matter, Additional Director Medical Health and Family Welfare Dr PK Ojha will reach the PHC to look into the issue on Tuesday.
