Nitish declined Columbia B-school invite for a lecture citing clash with budget session.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said he will not be able to visit New York to give a lecture at Columbia Business School on April 1 as the dates clash with the forthcoming budget session of the state legislature.

He was invited by the top B-school to address their 7th India Business Conference themed - 'India: an honest conversation'.

Kumar, however, thanked the institute for the invite.

"It is a matter of pride for the people that their chief minister has been invited by a reputed US-based university for giving a lecture there," he told reporters.

The invitation proved that Bihar was being talked about in the country and the world for which the people deserves all the credit, Kumar said.
