Neeraj Chopra is Excellence Personified, He'll Continue to Inspire Future Generations: President, PM

Neeraj Chopra’s silver medal victory at the Paris Games has been celebrated as a milestone that will inspire future generations to pursue excellence. The nation’s leaders, including President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have praised the javelin thrower’s remarkable achievement.

Chopra on Thursday became the first Indian track-and-field athlete to win two successive Olympic medals with a silver in men’s javelin throw in the Paris Games.

”Neeraj Chopra is excellence personified! Time and again he’s shown his brilliance. India is elated that he comes back with yet another Olympic success. Congratulations to him on winning the Silver,” PM Modi wrote on ’X’.

”He will continue to motivate countless upcoming athletes to pursue their dreams and make our nation proud,” he added.

President Murmu said the country would look forward to more medals from Chopra. “Heartiest congratulations to Neeraj Chopra on winning silver medal in Paris Olympics and scripting history. He is the first Indian athlete to win a gold and a silver medal in two successive Olympic Games.

“India is proud of him. His feat will inspire generations to come. India looks forward to Neeraj Chopra bringing home more medals and glory in the future.”

Wishing Chopra the best for his future endeavours Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar wrote,  “Neeraj Chopra has made the entire nation proud by securing SilverMedal in Javelin Throw at Paris Olympics 2024 I extend my heartiest congratulations on this remarkable feat. His hard work, dedication and perseverance is inspiration for all. Best wishes for all his future endeavours.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also took on ‘X’ to congratulate the Javelin star for his outstanding performance. “A big congratulations to the exceptional athlete, Neeraj Chopra, for his amazing achievement in the Men’s javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024 and winning the Silver Medal. He is the epitome of hard work, dedication and consistency. His success has delighted the entire nation.”

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also took on ‘X’ to congratulate Neeraj Chopra on his remarkable achievement and wrote, “Neeraj, you’re an amazing athlete. Congratulations on your Silver medal after a spectacular performance throughout #ParisOlympics2024. You’ve made India immensely proud yet again.”

“Your remarkable 89.45m throw has not only earned you a podium finish but also inspired a nation. Keep shining and reaching new heights. Cheers to your success!” Kharge added.

Manu Bhaker, the star pistol shooter who etched her name in history as the first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympic Games in Paris also lauded Neeraj Chopra for his remarkable achievement.

”ONWARDS AND UPWARDS! He has done it once again, this time in Paris. @Neeraj_chopra1 you are truly one in a million. Congratulations on yet another medal at the Olympics!!,” Bhaker tweeted.

”Back-to-back Olympic medals for our star, Neeraj Chopra! India’s first silver medal at the #Paris2024 Olympics, and what a way to achieve it! You might have fallen short of the gold, but your commitment and effort in the final were really inspiring!” BCCI secretary Jay Shah said on his ’X’ handle.

Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir said, ”The icon never returns without bringing joy to every Indian!#NeerajChopra.” Several union ministers, chief ministers of the states and other politicians also lauded Chopra’s feat.
