Need for guiding the differently-abled to vision

CHENNAI: While education is no longer a dream for the physically challenged, the issue that requires attention is finding them employment, said Deepti Bhatia, Deputy Director of National Spastic Society, aka Vidya Sagar. Addressing the employees of the Hotel Sheraton Park recently, she said the physically challenged should be treated as part of society. Efforts must be made to generate employement for them, she said. Deepti Bhatia further said employers must adapt certain measures to accomodate the physically challenged.  According to her, even if differently-abled people managed to succeed in their businesses, they still weren’t able to gain society’s acceptance. Six differently-abled employees of the hotel were also felicitated at the event and the hotel has also planned a lunch at the Society on December 8.
