NCW, CBI take tough stand on Ruchika case
NCW wants an abetment to suicide case to be filed against Rathore.

New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) and the CBI are now taking a tough stand on the Ruchika case. NCW chairperson Girija Vyas on Tuesday said the Union Government and Haryana government should file fresh FIRs against former Harayana director general of police, SPS Rathore.

Girija Vyas has also said that she has written to the Union Home Minister in this regard.

"NCW wants RAthore to be charged under abetment to suicide, to murder, for criminal conspiracy, for giving false evidence and for criminal intimidation. NCW feels there should be no further delay in the Rathore case. We have written to the Union Home Minister with regard to the Rathore case," she said.

The CBI too is approaching the Home Ministry, seeking to reopen the Ruchika molestation case.

Rathore was convicted of molesting teenager Ruchika Girhotra and harassing her family, leading Ruchika to commit suicide three years after she was molested.
