KOCHI: Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL) at Thrikkakara observed the National Technology Day by organising a set of lectures on Friday.NPOL scientist P Balakrishnan delivered the Technology Day oration on ‘Evolution of Computing Technology and Future Trends’. Madhu S Nair, general manager (business and development), Cochin Shipyard, delivered a lecture on ‘Ships- A look at some Specialised Functions and Technologies‘. ‘Compendium of Innovations- Vol 1’ and a special issue on Sonar Transducers of ‘Sea Tech,’ an in-house technical journal of NPOL were released on the occasion.Technology Day quiz and presentations of innovators on proposal for Technology Incubation under the Creativity and Innovation Cell (CIC) of NPOL was conducted on this occasion. A Unnikrishnan, officiating director, NPOL, addressed the gathering and presented the DRDO Technology Day Oration Medal to P Balakrishnan.
