The Mechanical Engineering Department of the Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman College of Engineering, Vadamavandal, (AMACE) conducted a two-day national conference on ‘Recent Trends and Innovations in Mechanical Engineering’ (RAIME 2012) on recently.
The conference received support from the Central Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Defense and Research Development Organization (DRDO) in the form of sponsorship/grant support.
RAIME 2012 was inaugurated by Dr G Bhaskar Raju, Chief Scientist, National Metallurgical Laboratory, CSIR. He delivered the speech on the innovations in mechanical engineering, the facilities available in CISR for students. He also spoke about research scholars at the facility. AN Radhakrishnan, managing trustee, Meenakshi Ammal Trust, released the proceedings of the conference.
A special Lecture, ‘Finite Element Analysis’ was presented by Prof K Prabhakaran Nair, dean, National Institute of Technology, Calicut. The lecture was attended by a number of enthusiastic students.
On day two, a tutorial on ‘Pro-E and Ansys’ was presented by the CADD Centre, Kanchipuram.
