Q. What's your opinion on the persons and organisations who are supporting a banned organisation, which assassinated the Prime Minister of India? Do you compare them with the persons who support other banned organisations? Asked by: Nomula Vinod

A. I need to tell a story, so I told a story. Censor board decide in which category the film has to be released. As far as supporting a banned organisation goes, that's a personal choice.

Q. Is this film based on facts or purely fictional? Asked by: kirti

A. There are events, facts from history. But its fiction inspired from facts.

Q. Do you think its becoming difficult for film makers these days to make films based on any political event as every one is taking films so personally these days. Asked by: kirti

A. It seems so, after celebrating 100 yrs of cinema we still have to face opposition. 'Madras Cafe' does not give biased opinion.

Q. The concept to make a movie on the civil war topic is highly appreciated, I think while making the movie you also sensed that there would be problems in it's release by the Tamil's by showing LTTE as a militant organisation, won't you think you should have taken the measures to pacify the Tamil Nadu people? Asked by: Nomula Vinod

A. 'Madras Cafe' is fiction, adapted from history. As I said earlier, after we make a film we go to censor board.

Q. 'Madras Cafe' appears to be a first movie in Bollywood that revolves around a state of civil war- don't you think Syria, Egypt, Palestine and Bosnia which are also facing civil war like situation should also be given coverage through movies? would you ever try and direct a movie based on the events in Syria or Bosnia for that matter? Asked by: Tanveer Mohammad Masood

A. I don't know much about Syria or Bosnia. I made my first film based on Kashmir. I will definitely make a film on Bosnia or Syria if it touches my heart.

Q. I am truly interested in joining and working under your team (under direction and acting). I know it's not an easy thing but still Shoojit Sir, how can I attempt at being placed at your end and ways to contact you. Asked by: Sandeep Rao

A. Normally I suggest a film school, then you should be an apprentice, You can apply on [email protected]

Q. There was a film being made called 'Shoebite' with you being the director and Amitabh ji as the lead. Can I know how far has it come and what to expect from that film? Asked by: Sandeep Rao

A. Its almost ready, I'm disappointed by producers. Its complete disregard to legends like Amitabh ji. I'm very upset with the producer of the film- UTV for not releasing it, it makes me very sad.

What's your reaction?
