KOZHIKODE: Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer released three volumes of a series of 24 books featuring the history of Indian Union Muslim League at a function held at the K M A Auditorium on Sunday.Addressing the gathering, Muneer said that League ministers had never taken decisions based on politics and worked for the welfare of the entire community. “League has always taken decisions in connection with the governance on the basis of existing circumstances of that particular time. In the case of performance of various portfolios held by the League ministers, one can see it from the fact that IUML has always been one step ahead in carrying out the development works or in the case of initiating various programmes of the government,” he said.On the issue of Vigilance case being filed against him during his tenure as the Public Works Minister in the previous UDF government, Muneer said that he received appreciation from all corners of the state for the good works his department had carried out, including for constructing good roads in the state during that period. “Roads that were built during that time are still in excellent condition whereas the roads constructed or repaired after that have become dilapidated ,” the minister added. The three volumes published by the Middlehill Publications released on Sunday cover PWD and Industry portfolios held by the League Ministers and another one is on the Kurikkal family.
