New Delhi: State-run telecom major MTNL on Wednesday announced a steep decline of 15 per cent in internet tariffs, an effort to provide the services at affordable rates to customers.
The customers now would be charged Re 1 for every data download of 1.2 MB, against the earlier rate of Re 1 for every data download of 1 MB. It means per MB download rate has now been made as 83 paise instead of Re 1, MTNL ED (WS) AK Bhargava said.
MTNL provides telecom services in Delhi and Mumbai circles.
"In addition to this, MTNL has revised and rationalised data plans to suit the needs of its different segments of customers. There are daily plans, weekly plans, forthrightly, monthly, half-yearly plans and yearly plans keeping in mind the low, medium and high-end users," Bhargava added.
Besides, for a limited period of Diwali, MTNL is offering a recharge bonanza to its customers by offering Rs 555 worth talk-time for Rs 444 top-up.
MTNL has also brought a festive SMS coupons of Rs 10 each for local (400 free) and national SMS (200 free). The offer is valid for a week. Besides, regular SMS pack of 1,000 SMSes per month in just Rs 30.
