Moderate quake rocks Assam

Moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale hit Assam on Wednesday.

The tremor though lasted for few seconds, yet the doors and windows jolted. However, no information of any casualty or damage has been reported. The earthquake occurred at 9:46 am.

The epicentre of the tremor was at Karbi Anglong at a depth of 20 km with latitude 26.5 degree north and longitude 93.5 degree east, met office at Guwahati said.
