Minimum wages fixed at Rs 115

PUDUCHERRY:  The administration on Thursday revised the minimum wages payable for any work coming under the schedules of employment, and fixed the new National Floor Level Minimum Wage (NFLMW) at Rs 115 effective from June 2. The Ministry of Labour and Employment had earlier fixed the minimum wages on the basis of the All-India Consumer Price Index for industrial workers. The State governments and the UTs were then requested to revise wages to ensure that the minimum wage does not fall below the NFLMW of Rs 115 per day in all the scheduled employments.The revision was effected to ensure a uniform wage structure across India.
