KOCHI: The authorities will soon convene a meeting of all parties concerned to fix the alignment of the Kochi Metro Rail project along Madhava Pharmacy Junction and South Junction. The alignment will also be carried out along the M G Road.The District Administration will convene a meeting of land owners in the coming week.The traders at M G Road have been protesting against the alignment there. Even along the stretches where the alignment has been completed, the road has to be widened. Along Kacheripady-Madhava Pharmacy stretch, the width of the road is just 15 metres, whereas the requirement for Metro rail is 26 metres.The alignment has already been completed from Aluva Railway Station to Kalamassery, Edappally, Palarivattom, Kaloor, Kacheripadi till Madhava Pharmacy Junction. Land acquisition is yet to be carried out from Vyttila till Petta.This will commence in November, said District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth. The trial run of traffic diversion in the wake of North Bridge demolition will be organised on August 27.
