RAJAHMUNDRY: Many Congress aspirants for the coveted AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) chairman post, have started making all-out efforts to get it as the two-year term of incumbent Srighakolapu Sivarama Subrahmanyam expired on Sunday. The aspirants are lobbying heavily for the cabinet-rank post. Thus far close confidants of chief ministers managed to get it. Former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy appointed his loyalist Ambati Rambabu to the post. His successor Konijeti Rosaiah entrusted the job to his staunch supporter Subrahmanyam in 2010.Subrahmanyam, meanwhile, is leaving no stone unturned for his renomination. He has the backing of his Vysya community, Rajahmundry MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar, MLA Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao and MLC Kandula Durgesh, according to party sources.The Congress Co-ordination Committee and the chief minister are likely to take a decision on the post soon.
