Senior BJP leader and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday welcomed the party's decision to nominate Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
Senior BJP leader and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday welcomed the party's decision to nominate Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
"It is a good decision and has been taken at the right time. This decision will help in BJP's victory as and when the elections are held," Parrikar told PTI.
The Goa Chief Minister this morning telephoned his Gujarat counterpart and congratulated him on his elevation.
Parrikar said to see Modi as the PM nominee was people's desire. "It was a choice of the people and the party implemented it."
He, however, declined to comment on senior leader L K Advani's reported opposition to the Gujarat strongman's nomination for the top post.
