A 55-year-old labourer was allegedly stabbed to death over a property issue at Avadi on Sunday.

Police have launched a hunt for his brother-in-law in connection with the incident. Mohan (32) of Muthapudupet was at his elder sister Nagammal’s house at Bhavani Amman Koil Street, Avadi, for special Adi prayers, when the siblings were involved in an argument over the sharing of an ancestral property in Vellore, police said.

Engineering student drowns

A 19-year-old engineering student reportedly drowned in the sea off the Marina on Saturday.
