Man held for selling ganja

The Excise Special Squad arrested a person from Perumbavoor for selling dried ganja the other day.

The person is Asraf, 57, of Kalapurackal in Kanjirakkad, near Perumbavoor. According to an Excise official, Asraf was convicted under the Goonda Act, and several cases are pending against him.

The Special Squad led by Circle Inspector K K K Anil Kumar arrested Asraf following a tip-off that he was travelling in a vehicle and selling ganja in different parts of the city. The Excise team also seized 150 packets of ganja weighing 50 gm each.

Meanwhile, ganja was seized from an autorickshaw at Perumbavoor while inspecting vehicles on MC Road.
