Man held for abducting minor girl

NAMAKKAL: A 23-year-old man was held by the police on the charges of abducting a minor and forcibly marrying without her consent.Police sources said that Kannan, a resident of Vanakaranpattipudhur, was arrested on Sunday on the basis of a complaint lodged by Nallusamy, the girl’s father. The man allegedly abducted her a week ago and took her to a temple where he married her.The Erumaipatti police registered a case and arrested him on Sunday, the sources said. The girl was sent back to her home along with her parents who were staying in Jambumadai, a hamlet near here.
