Tendu leaf collectors in Madhya Pradesh will this time get a bonus of Rs 244.55 crores this time, which is nearly 150 percent more than they received in the collection year 2012.
Previously, they got a bonus of 98.25 crores. This time its up by 148.90 per cent, State Forest Minister Sartaj Singh said in Hoshangabad while distributing Rs 17.18 lakh bonus to 803 tendu patta collectors in Sukhatwa and Bhadgada villages in the district on Sunday.
The minister said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country, which has introduced the system of providing the entire net profit from minor produce proceeds to primary co-operative forest produce societies.
A number of policy decisions have been taken to provide proper profit to villagers from business of minor forest produce, Sartaj said.
