BELLARY: Ministers G Janardhana Reddy and B Sreeramulu on Tuesday, released the official logo and website of Shri Krishnadevaraya University, Bellary. Reddy said the university already has 95 acres of land and an additional 140 acres would be provided soon. The government has released `25 crore for land acquisition process, he informed.He said that `10 crore has been released out of `65 crore needed for developing infrastructure.Around 27,000 degree students and 1,600 post-graduate students would study under this university, which would cater to the academic needs of Bellary and Koppal districts, the minister added.Announcing the sanction of a primary health centre at the university campus, Health Minister B Sreeramulu said that the region has only 12 per cent of persons with higher education, which should increase in the coming days.Presiding over the function, Vice-Chancellor Dr Manjappa D Hosmane mooted forming a committee for the development of the university and that private participation would be of great help in this regard.Registrars Yashavant, Rangaraj Vanadurga, Professor Jayanna, members of Syndicate and Mayor Parvati Indushekhar were among those present.
