HYDERABAD: The war between YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Telugu Desam has intensified further with the TDP alleging that Nimesh Kampani of the Reliance group had invested Rs 10 crore in Sakshi. The party also lodged a complaint with the Press Council of India against Jagan’s media Sakshi alleging reporting of false stories against it.It may be recalled that the Sakshi daily, owned by Jagan, hiked the price of the news paper from Rs 2.50 to Rs 3 on all the days whereas the price on Sunday remained unchanged at Rs 3.50.In his signed message published on the front page of Sakshi on Thursday, Jagan blamed the TDP for making allegations on investments in Sakshi and sought the support of people by paying more and helping him run Sakshi.A day later, the TDP attacked Sakshi saying that Nimesh Kampani of Reliance group invested Rs 10 crore in Jagati Publications by purchasing shares of the face value of Rs 10 at an exorbitant premium of Rs 350.Speaking to reporters here on Friday, TDP spokesman A Revanth Reddy said Kampani, who had allegedly funded the Ramoji Rao group during the crisis period, also invested Rs 10 crore in Jagati Publications.Revanth recalled that Jagan had expressed the suspicion that Reliance’s hand was behind the death of his father and the then chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. His loyalists even attacked Reliance’s properties. However, Jagan enacted another drama with Reliance behind the scenes, the TDP leader alleged.“Nimesh Kampani of the same Reliance invested in Sakshi later. There may be threats and blackmails behind Kamapani’s investment in Sakshi, Revanth alleges.
