K P A Majeed asks VS to quit

MALAPPURAM:  Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) state general secretary K P A Majeed has demanded the resignation of Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan for being arraigned as one among the eight accused in the transfer of land to the latter’s relative in Kasargod by the Vigilance Department.“Achuthanandan did a serious violation of the oath of office. The CPM should expel  Achuthanandan if he refuses to step down from the post of Opposition Leader,” Majeed told reporters here. The IUML leader said this single incident would expose the real face of Achuthanandan, who has been pretending as the champion of morality.“Achuthanandan told the investigating team that he was ignorant of the transfer of land to his relative. In fact, the decision was taken by the Cabinet while he was the chief minister. It appears that Achuthanandan did it by misleadinghis Cabinet colleagues. There is no point in blaming UDF leaders after getting caught in corruption,” he alleged.
