Family members of an assistant professor of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Punjagutta police against the doctors and management of Akruthi hospital at Ameerpet here after he developed complications due to the alleged failure of a liposuction surgery which he underwent a few days ago.
The complainants said that the professor had developed complications due to negligence by the doctors and hospital management during the surgery.
According to police, Nagendra Kumar (45), a diabetic, noticed the complications after he was discharged two days ago. “When he approached a private hospital in Domalguda, doctors there told him that some complications had developed in his body due to improper modelling of fat during the surgery,” said Ravi Kumar, sub-inspector, Punjagutta.
The doctors at the Domalguda hospital referred him to the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), where he is admitted now and his condition is stated to be critical.
