BANGALORE: Miscreants gained entry into a jewellery shop by drilling its rear wall and decamped with silver ornaments and other goods worth about `6 lakh. The incident was reported in Ganesh Jewellers on Vartur Main Road on Sunday morning. The burglary took place in the night and came to light when the shop owner Jnanaram came to the shop in the morning.According to the police, there is an old building that is not being used by anybody behind the shop. The miscreants took advantage of it and drilled a hole into the rear wall of the jewellery shop. They stole silver ornaments but could not steal the gold jewellery as it was kept in a safe lock. Public pelt stones at vehicle interceptor In a bid to escape from traffic police, a motorist rammed his bike into a lorry and sustained grave injuries on Sunday afternoon. Public, angered by this incident, pelted stones on a traffic interceptor vehicle and staged a flash protest. The movement on Bangalore International Airport Road was briefly affected. The injured has been identified as Kaisar (21) who is a carpenter and a resident of Shivajinagar, the police added.
