The actress apparently turned down the offer through a message from Istanbul
Lucknow: Actress-politician Jaya Bachchan has turned down the Rajya Sabha nomination offered to her by the Samajwadi Party, said the party leaders on Friday.
Bachchan, who was renominated for a second term by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, sent a message from Istanbul.
The nomination for a second term was seen as a rebuff to Mulayam Singh's one-time close aide Amar Singh, who is considered as a member of the Bachchan family.
