The Supreme Court has extended accused Italian marine Massimiliano Latorre's stay in Italy on medical grounds by six months.
The apex court has also issued a notice to the Centre on a plea by Italy seeking international arbitration in the case.
Italian marines Latorre and Salvatore Girone are accused of killing two Indian fishermen off the Kerala coast in February 2012.
In September 2014, Latorre was granted leave by the apex court to visit his country on medical grounds. He was also given a three-month extension in January, 2015 to stay in Italy on medical grounds.
