India seeks Chinese tips for C'Wealth Games
India are desperate to do well in the Commonwealth Games, 2010.

New Delhi: India's Olympic head has urged China to make training facilities available after the Beijing Olympics so that Indian athletes can prepare for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

"During the visit of the Prime Minister to China, the Chinese Government was very good to suggest that after the Olympics, they would be sending to India various equipment," Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Suresh Kalmadi told a press conference on Friday.

"Our request is our stadiums will be under renovation. So if our athletes could be trained in China, we could send our proposal for training in China for two years."

India are desperate to do well in the first major games they will be hosting since 1982, having managed just one bronze medal in each of the last three Olympics.

Kalmadi made the request to a delegation headed by Jiang Xiaoyu, spokesman and executive vice-president of the Beijing Organising Committee for the Games (BOCOG), which finalised the Indian leg of the Olympic torch relay on Friday.
