Mumbai: Spanish world number seven Tommy Robredo will head the field for next month's inaugural Mumbai Open ATP tournament, organisers said on Thursday.

Croatian Mario Ancic and Czech Radek Stepanek, currently eighth and ninth in the ATP ranking list, have also confirmed they will play in the event, which starts on September 25.

Former French Open champion Carlos Moya of Spain, and Chile's Fernando Gonzales, doubles gold medallist at the 2004 Athens Olympics, will also take part.

The Mumbai Open will be the second ATP tournament in India after the Chennai Open, which was launched 10 years ago.
