Homestay attack victims demand CBI probe

Sinchana (name changed) had invited her 10 friends, including two boys to the party.Vijay, who wanted a night long party also invited 10 friends. The women had changed into party wears at Sinchana’s house. The celebration began at 3.15 pm by cutting the cake.  Two of the women students from Sridevi Engineering College left early.At the same time Vijay’s friends, including Aravind Raichur arrived. At about 7 pm, over 30 youth barged into the homestay and begun assaulting the party revelers. A woman student who jumped from the terrace was dragged back to the house. “The vigilantes snatched as many as three gold chains, cell phones, two purses all of a total value `2 lakh,” said Vijay. Vijay’s friends Avrol Lawrence Rosario and Dillan witnessed the attack that lasted for about 15 minutes. Vijay accused the cops of slapping him and his friend Arjun. Gurudatt  said that at Pandeshwar police station they were not given water or food and were prevented from talking to their parents. The duo demanded dismissal of State Commission for Women’s Chairperson Manjula.
