HYDERABAD: With the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) inviting request for proposal from firms for building the inter-city bus terminal (ICBT) at Miyapur, the project is going to start soon. Estimated to cost around Rs 100 crore, it will have state-of-the-art facilities for commuters and bus operators. The terminal will be build on the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis in public-private partnership mode. HMDA officials said the last date for submitting the RFP is June 30 and the terminal is expected to be ready in the next two years. HMDA officials added that the ICBT will come up in an area of 55 acres at the Miyapur village in Serilingampally mandal of Rangareddy district. The terminal will have 1 lakh sq feet of passenger terminals, 200 bus bays/platforms for outstation buses, idle bus parking for 1,000 buses, 30 bus bays for city buses, parking for 2000 two-wheelers, 100 three-wheelers and 200 four-wheelers. Added to that, there will be 200 dormitories for commuters and 750 for drivers. The ICBT will also have a budget hotel, restaurants, five vehicle service centres, two fuel stations, including one CNG. Medical and emergency facilities with minimum five beds is also another added facility. Similarly, HMDA has also proposed to develop truck terminals at Batasingaram and Mangalapally to meet the increasing demand for freight logistics. The logistic park in Batasingaram will come up at a cost of about Rs 35 crore while the one in Mangalapally will be built for around Rs 20 crore, according to HMDA officials.
