BANGALORE: While hearing a case wherein a citizen has challenged acquisition of his land - 29 years ago - for a project that was not fully executed, the High Court asked the commissioner of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to be present in the court.The HC has asked the commissioner to be in the court for next hearing, on July 4, or submit an affidavit regarding the status of Kamakshi Layout to let the court pass an order regarding a petition.One B Krishnappa has filed a writ petition, requesting the court to set aside acquisition of four acres of his land in Sanaguravanahalli that had been acquired in 1982 to form Kamakshi Layout.Earlier, the HC had dismissed his petition wherein he had challenged the acquisition of his land.In an affidavit, special land acquisition officer had submitted before the High Court that the BDA had partially developed the layout and formed around 53 sites. Justice D V Shylendra Kumar observed that the land acquisition officer’s affidavit was not supported by an affidavit of any higher authority of the BDA.AdmittedThe High court on Thursday admitted a habeas corpus petition filed by an agriculturalist from Ramanagaram District and issued a notice to the State government.In his petition, Nagaiah of Mallenahalli village in Ramanagara district has stated that his son Chennappa, who was working as a driver for Sunil in Bangalore, was taken by Ramanagaram Rural Police over a minor accident on January 16 and was released on the same day.However, he went missing after Lokesh and Raja, both from the same village, took him to the police station on January 17 on the pretext of getting his driving license back. The petitioner filed a missing complaint on February 4 and February 22.
