Gurdaspur terror attack: BSF DG to visit the site, Indo-Pak border on Wednesday
The terrorists entered India on the intervening night of July 26 and 27 and used Ravi river to cross over, sources said.

Gurdaspur: Border Security Force (BSF) Director General DK Pathak is likely to visit border area of Punjab's Gurdaspur district along the International Border (IB) with Pakistan on Wednesday and review the security setup there in the wake of the terrorist attack.

Official sources said senior commanders of Border Security Forces' Punjab Frontier have been informed about the visit and as per the plan, the DG will visit forward locations in that area including border posts falling under Gurdaspur.

According to the sources, the three terrorists came from Tash in Shakargarh area of Pakistan. After crossing Ravi river they sneaked into Punjab before reaching Talwandi and planted five IEDs at Talwandi on the Amritsar-Pathankot railway line.

They entered India on the intervening night of July 26 and 27 and used Ravi river to cross over, the sources said.

CNN-IBN had also accessed the footage of 4:55 AM on Monday which showed the three heavily armed Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists walking on a road towards an eatery.

The CCTV was installed in one of the shops on the road which was used by the terrorists to walk unchallenged towards the police station. The terrorists killed seven people including one Superintendent of Police Baljeet Singh and three home guards before all of them were eliminated.

11 unused bombs had been recovered. Three AK-47 rifles, 17 magazines, 55 cartridges, one Rocket launcher, three hand grenades, bullet proof jackets, night vision device and heap of unused bullets were recovered from the site of the encounter, Punjab Police chief Sumedh Singh Saini said.
