Great scope to develop religious tourism in Bihar: Nitish
Nitish stressed that hotel and transport sectors held great potential in the state and asked industrialists to invest in them.

Patna: Stating that Bihar has treasure trove of all religions, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said there is tremendous scope to develop religious tourism in the state and exhorted industrialists to invest in the sector, particularly in hotel and transport sectors. "Bihar has many religious and historic tradition which people from across the world wish to see," Kumar said addressing a convention of industrialists at Rajgir.

He mentioned Buddhist place of Bodh Gaya, Jain stupa in Vaishali, mausoleum of Hazrat Makhdum Sarfuddin Yahiya Maneri, birth place of Guru Govind Singh and goddess Sita's direct links with Bihar to highlight that the state has a treasure trove of all religions. Addressing the industrialists associated with tourism, the chief minister said that improved law and order situation was congenial for growth of tourism in the state. He stressed that hotel and transport sectors held great potential in the state and asked industrialists to invest in them.

"We have planned to develop dhabas along roads leading to important religious places and those building dhabas according to prescribed designs will get subsidy," he said. Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who was also present on the occasion, said the state government would provide relevant information for setting up industries on its website in the form of check list.
