BHUBANESWAR: With industrialisation in the State heavily tilted towards large industries in steel, aluminium and power sectors, the Government has now shifted focus to value addition and downstreaming.  While inviting investments in the downstream industry, the Government has urged the industry to initiate skill centres, clusters for industrial development and make quality manpower available.   Odisha should be looked as a destination for value addition rather than a raw material supplier. The State is getting 90 per cent of electronic and hardware goods for usage from outside. There should be investment in these area as well as auto, IT and food processing sectors, Secretary Industries T Ramachandru urged the members of the CII, which held its Eastern Regional Council meeting here on Friday.  Chairman of IPICOL CJ Venugopal emphasised on the need for improvement in social infrastructure and education. To overcome the problems of connectivity, he said the State Government was in discussion with international airlines for flights to the rest of the country and abroad.  Enterprise Odisha 2011, the largest industrial trade fair to explore business opportunities in the State organised by CII went underway here on Friday.   The five-day expo, inaugurated by Industries Minister Raghunath Mohanty, has focused on “Business for Livelihood” as its theme for the year. More than 200 stalls have been put up by various industries and Government organisations  Among others, CII Chairman, Eastern region, Ranaveer Sinha, CII Chairman CII Orissa State Council BL Bagra and vice chairman Suresh Thawani were present.
