Agra: An international homeopathy conference is taking place in this Taj Mahal city, attended by over 80 delegates from India and eight countries.
The four-day meet, which began on Wednesday, will focus on critical areas including cancer, AIDS and "other difficult subjects which have proved a challenge to other (medical) systems,” the organising secretary, Alok Pareek said.
The slogan of the conference is ‘Indian Homeopathy goes Global’.
The father figure of homeopathy in this part of the country, Radhey Shyam Pareek announced the launch of India's first postgraduate college for research and training.
"This will be at par with international centres with total focus on training and research," the director of the Pareek Foundation said.
Gotthard Behnisch of Germany presided over the inaugural session, which was addressed by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Homeopaths from Russia, Germany and other European countries will share their experiences and also treat patients with critical problems.
Pareek said that homeopathy was a complementary system and had the maximum number of practitioners in India.
