Cottbus (Germany): A German neo-Nazi who punched an Indian man in the face was sent to prison Friday for two years.
A court in Cottbus, eastern Germany convicted him of assault and wounding the Indian in May 2005 in the city and of taking part in an attack by a group of 30 on local young people at a youth club several days later.
The defendant, 25, had previous criminal convictions. The attacks had breached the terms of suspension of previous jail sentences, the court noted, saying that the attacks were motivated by his far-right attitudes.
A second defendant aged 22 was given a suspended sentence of 18 months in prison for his part in the attack on the youth club.
The name of the Indian was not immediately known.
