Mumbai: It was a night of horror for a foreign national in Mumbai as the 26-year-old Spanish woman was allegedly raped at her Bandra home in the Maharashtra capital at knife point. According to the police complaint that the woman filed, the unidentified accused broke into her home at 4:30 am, and raped her at knifepoint.
The foreign national further alleged in the police complaint that the culprits also stole foreign currency and a video camera from her home in a posh locality in Mumbai. Following the complaint, the police have formed eight teams to probe into the case.
Vishwas Nagre Patil, Additional Commissioner of Police, said, "The medical report has confirmed rape. Eight teams have been formed to investigate the case."
The incident has sent shock waves across the neighbourhood. A resident also claims this wasn't the only incident on the night. Police say the modus operandi suggests the robbers could be history-sheeters. A resident said, "The robbers also came to our home…my mother was robbed of some money."
Earlier, the police had said that the victim was from Germany.
