An FIR was registered against RJD leader and Lalu Prasad's daughter Misa Bharti in Maner Police station for allegedly breaking an electronic voting machine (EVM) at a polling booth in Pataliputra on Thursday.

The incident happened at booth number 34 in Maner during polling was on. The RJD, however, alleged that Misa was manhandled by BJP supporters at the booth.

However, RJD chief Lalu Prasad has come out in defense of his daughter and RJD's Patliputra candidate Misa Bharti after it was alleged that she had destroyed an EVM machine when she had gone to cast her vote on Thursday morning in Patliputra.

"Misa did not damage the EVM. BJP workers had captured the booth When Misa objected to it and complained, the polling party damaged the EVM. We will file a complaint against them," said Lalu Prasad.
